In my dream
In 2019 Óperudagar held a poetry competition for primary school students, where children were invited to submit poems about nature, the climate, their visions and dreams. The idea behind the competition was to get an insight into the minds of the children and their attitudes towards these issues, as well as to promote children's participation in cultural life. A few poems were chosen from around 400 submitted poems, and as a result, young Nordic composers were given the task of writing compositions to them.
The project now continues to grow and prosper, and both children's choirs and new composers join the project. At the concerts in Norðurljós, Harpa we will hear the choir of Öldutúnsskóli and the Children's Choir of Seltjarnarnes Church perform works by Matta Borg, Anna Pärt, Gisle Kverndokk and Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir.
There is good access for disabled in Harpa.
