Alexander Jarl began his singing studies at a young age at Tónlistarskóli Vestmanneyja in the fall of 2002 where his teachers were Alexandra Cwalinska and Annika Tonuri. From 2009 to 2011 he studied under Guðrún Jóhanna Jónsdóttir at Tónlistarskóli Garðabæjar. He now studies at the advanced level at Söngskóli Sigurðar Demetz where his teacher is Gunnar Guðbjörnsson. In the Opera Department Alexander Jarl sang the title role in the school’s production of Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi in February of 2014; Lyonel in Martha by Friedrich von Flotow in 2015 and Beppe in Rita by Donizetti in 2016.
