Alexandra Untiedt

Soprano

Alexandra

German-french soprano Alexandra Untiedt gained her first stage experience in straight theater which highly influences her approach to opera where she aims for a dense link between music and acting.

During her studies she made her operatic debut as Hänsel in a Hänsel und Gretel. Other operatic appearances include the little Vixen in Janacek‘s Cunning little vixen at the theater Solingen, Mme Lidoine in a production of the DNOA‘s Les dialogues des Carmélites, Cajus in Vivaldi‘s Ottone in Villa at the summer festival Oper Oder Spree or the title role in Cherubini‘s opera Médée.

Alexandra won the first price at the international singing competition Grandi Voci in Salzburg and was amongst the finalist of 2013 Armel Opera Competition in collaboration with ARTE.

On the concert stage Alexandra feels especially drawn to the repertoire of the 19th and 20th century. Among her most recognized interpretations are works as Verdi‘s Requiem, Mendelssohn‘s Elias, Rossini‘s Petite Messe Solennelle or Haydn‘s Nelson Mass.

Besides the big orchestral works Alexandra loves the intimacy and detail of Lied repertoire and has been heard in various programs together with irish pianist Rebecca Čápová.
