Birkir Örn Hafsteinsson is born in Reykjavík in 1997. He started his studies at the age of eight with Kristján Þ. Stephensen and then continued his studies at the Reykjavík College of Music with Freyja Gunnlaugsdóttir.

Birkir graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Hochschule für Musik „Carl Maria von Weber“ Dresden in the summer of 2022. In May of 2022 he performed as a soloist with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra as one of three young soloists. Birkir has performed as an orchestra musician with Orkester Norden and the chamber group Elja.
