Icelandic soprano, Bryndís Guðjónsdóttir, recieved both her Bacelor's degree in 2019 and her Master‘s Degree in 2021 in Opera Performance at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, summa cum laude in Austria.
Prior to moving to Salzburg, Bryndís spent one year at the Iceland University of the Arts, where she worked with Thora Einarsdóttir, Kristinn Sigmundsson and Ólöf Kolbrún Harðardóttir.
Bryndís is the recipient of several prizes. In 2022 she was awarded the first prize of the XVIII Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla Competiton in Sevilla, Spain
as well as she recieved the special prize of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.
In  2021 Bryndís won the first prize in the Riccardo Zandonai competition in Garda, Italy.
In addition, she was one of the winners of the 2018 Young Soloists Competition in Iceland with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the first prize winner of the 2018 Dušek competition in Prague.

She has performed in various Opera houses and with Symphony orchestras such as in Kiel, Kassel, Stuttgart, Munich, Salzburg, Prague, Martina Franca, Rome, Vilnius, Seville and Madrid.

Bryndís has sung with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in 2018 the Young Soloist concert, their annual Christmas concert in 2021, in the Adventure of the  Magic Flute in 2023 and with the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven's 9th Symphony in 2019.

Bryndís' repertoire is wide and spans many centuries, but among the operas in which she has sung in are; Cunegonde from Candide by Bernstein, Belinda from Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, Queen of the Night from The Magic Flute, Servilia from La clemenza di Tito by Mozart, Giulietta from The Adventures of Hoffmann by Offenbach, Mrs. Julian Owen Wingrave by Britten and Rabbi electric brain by Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson.

Orchestral works include Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Nulla in Mundo, Mozart's Requiem, J.S. Bach's Matthew Passion, Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Berio's Folk Songs.

Bryndís is a receipient of the Söngmenntasjóður Marínós Péturssonar scholarship, the Halldór Hansen scholarship, the Ingjaldssjóður scholarship, Rotary scholarship from Iceland, Gianna Szel scholarship in Austria, and the Richard Wagner Scholarship.
