Soprano and musicologist, Cayla Rosché earned a DMA from UW-Madison in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy. Her doctoral project was an examination of music from Iceland by composer Jón Leifs. To continue her research, she was awarded the Foreign Language Area Studies fellowship which allowed her to learn the Icelandic language and publish a handbook for Icelandic lyric diction. In 2021, she was also awarded a grant from The American-Scandinavian Foundation to lecture, teach, and research in Reykjavík, Iceland. In May of 2021 Dr. Rosché presented lectures on Icelandic Art Song and Lyric Diction at the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Studies conference and the Sam Houston Art Song Festival. She is currently a Fulbright Scholar teaching phonetics and continuing her research on Icelandic art song at Listaháskoli in Reykjavík. Cayla is also the voice professor at Edgewood College and Rosché Music Studio, and an active singer in Madison, Wisconsin.

Cayla’s performance history includes Operatic and Oratorio roles such as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Anne Sexton in Transformations, Mrs. Grose in Turn of the Screw, Lady Billows in Albert Herring, soprano soloist in The War Requiem, soprano soloist in The Messiah, and soprano and alto soloist in The Beethoven Mass in C. Concert appearances include Frühling and Beim Schlafenehen from Vier letzte Lieder by Strauss with the UW-Madison Orchestra after winning the annual Concerto Competition. As a recording artist she appears as Anne Sexton on the recorded premiere of Transformations by Conrad Sousa.
