Gunnar Erik Snorrason
actor and singer
Gunnar Erik (born 2011) is in the 8th grade at Dalskóli in Úlfarsárdal and fell in love with acting when he auditioned for "Emil í Kattholti" at the Reykjavík City Theater at the age of 10. Gunnar Erik played "Emil í Kattholti" in the years 2021-2023.
He then went to the Reykjavík City Theater's acting school and will graduate from there as a young actor in 2025.
He got a role in the Christmas calendar on RÚV "Dagar í desember" in 2022, where he played the second main role, Mundi, who was a character in the books about the friends Randalín and Mundi.
Gunnar Erik has also acted in the comedy series Kennarastofan and the foreign series Darkness, which is based on Ragnar Jónasson's book, along with various other television projects and commercials.
Gunnar Erik took a dubbing course at Stúdíó Sýrland in 2023 and subsequently spoke and sang in all kinds of fun children's shows and movies and is still busy with that work.
"Tumi goes to the Moon" was another adventure that Gunnar Erik took part in and fell for after the first rehearsal. The message, the music and the people around the project were everything you could wish for.
Gunnar Erik and his colleagues played and sang in Karla Anita Kristjánsdóttir's final project at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, which was a wonderful musical from the book "Benjamín Dúfa" and Margrét Kristín Sigurðardóttir composed the music for the show.
Gunnar Erik is at the Miðstöð, which is the joint rhythm department of Reykjavík's Music School and the New Music School, where he plays drums and does backing vocals with the band Espólín. He also plays bass and guitar and basically any instrument he can get his hands on.
Today, Gunnar Erik acts in the play Fíasól at the Borgarleikhús, but there he plays the rogue Tóti and the show is a real joy.
Gunnar Erik won the award as child actor of the year for Emil í Kattholti together with his co-stars, and the show was chosen as the children's show of the year at Gríman and Sögur children's cultural festival in 2022. He was chosen as the actor of the year for his role as Mundi in "Dagar í desember" and the show also won an award for children - and youth material of the year at the Edda og Sögur children's cultural festival in 2023. Fíasól won the most awards at this year's Sögur, but among other things they won awards for show of the year and actor/performer of the year.
The theater and music is his life and delight and he thinks he has completely found his place in life.
