Haukur Gröndal

Composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist Haukur Gröndal started his music studies at an early age. Finished his M.M. degree from the Rhythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen in 2004 with saxophone as his major instrument. Since 2001 he has been furthered his studies focusing especially on East-European folk music with various musicans from Bulgaria and Turkey. He has also studied classical clarinet playing at the Conservatory in Reykjavik doing a final exam in 2016. Haukur is very active on the Icelandic music scene playing with the Reykjavik Big Band, Byzantine Silhouette and many other projects. He has played on roughly 80 recordings and performed all over Europe and in the U.S.
