Ingibjörg Jara Sigurdardottir studied from 2007 - 2014 at the Universität der Künste Berlin, completing a first diploma in Costumes with Prof. Florence von Gerkan and graduating with a MA degree in Scenography with prof. Hartmut Meyer.

She has been working as a freelance scenographer and costume designer in Germany, Holland and Iceland, as well as taking part in group exhibitions and teaching scenography with the Al-Harah Theater in Beit Jala in Palestine.

She has i.a. worked as a scenographer with the director duo Prinzip Gonzo on Merlin - or the Wasteland (Uni.T Berlin 2011) and as a scenographer and costume designer with Julia Lwowski on the Götterdämmerung (Akademie der Künste Berlin 2013) as well as with Nicholas Mockridge on Die Ratten (BAT Berlin and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin 2011) and on Baal (Schaubühne Berlin 2013); She was an assistant scenographer i.a. at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Berliner Ensemble, Icelandic Opera and Reykjavik City Theater.

Most recently Ingibjörg designed costumes for Rigoletto (Opera Zuid Maastricht 2015) and come fall she will be co-scenographer on Peter Pan in WLB Esslingen (2016-2017).
