Snæfríður María Björnsdóttir

Snæfríður Björnsdóttir soprano is based in Copenhagen and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in June. During her studies she appeared as a solist with both choirs and orchestras and debuted as Siduri in Per Nørgård’s Gilgamesh, The Soprano in The Fournote Opera by Tom Johnson and as Le fue in L´enfant e le sortilege by Maurice Ravel. Snæfríður likes to work interdisciplinary and particularly like to collaborate closely with composers. She is known for sensitive musicality and rich expression on stage. For her undergrad at the Icelandic University of the Arts she had Þóra Einarsdóttir, Kristinn Sigmundsson, Hanna Dóra Sturludóttir og Ólöf Kolbrún Harðardóttir as main teachers. She will appear and debut a newly written danish opera in November in Copenhagen and a series of concerts with her collaborators will follow in the new year.
