Stefan Sand Groves

Stefan Sand is a Danish conductor, composer and pianist. He has extensive experience as a choir conductor. In 2022, he was assistant conductor of The Philharmonic Choir of Iceland under Magnús Ragnarsson. In 2023, he became conductor of the women's choir Vox Feminae. He was also assistant conductor of the University Choir of Iceland from 2020 to 2022 under Gunnsteinn Ólafsson.
Stefan relocated to Iceland in 2019 as an exchange student from The Royal Danish Academy. In 2017, he completed his BA in Piano Performance from RDAM, and has since focused on conducting and composition. He completed the Master of Arts program in composition at Iceland University of the Arts in 2023.
While Stefan has a strong passion for choir music, he is also an experienced conductor of the orchestra. Large productions that Stefan has led include Beethoven's Fidelio and Mass in C, and Mozart's The Magic Flute.
